Mark Ronnei, a Hutchinson native and longtime general manager of Grand View Lodge in Nisswa, was inducted into the Minnesota Hospitality Hall of Fame at a ceremony last month.
Ronnei earned a degree in hospitality management from Southwest Minnesota State University, and was hired by Grand View in 1978 as night auditor. At the time, there were only 70 employees. Since Ronnei started, he has served as convention services manager, director of sales, general manager and CEO. There are now more than 800 employees.
Ronnei led Grand View Lodge to add conference centers, golf courses, a spa, a wine bar and more. He founded the Enhanced Reading Foundation to bring books to every classroom at the local elementary school, and served on several boards and committees in the area.
