A two vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 22 and Fifth Avenue S.E. in Hutchinson sent five people to the hospital Thursday evening.
Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash around 6 p.m. Thursday. The Hutchinson Fire Department, Hutchinson Police Department and McLeod County Sheriff's Office also responded.
A 2006 Ford Ranger driven by Claude Russell Darnell, 76, of Hutchinson was driving eastbound on Fifth Avenue and could not stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 22. It collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Crystal Ann Dammann, 31, of Norwood Young America that was traveling northbound on Highway 22. The State Patrol report notes the road conditions were snowy and icy.
Dammann and four other passengers in the Impala were taken to Hutchinson Health with non-life threatening injuries. Those passengers were Austin Allen Dammann, 15, and Jerrod Orlin Damman, 43, both of Norwood Young America, Robert Orlin Dammann, 9, of Hutchinson and Jacob Robert Lemke, 27, of Glencoe.
