The Litchfield High School students of the week for April 8-12 are freshman Margaret Boerema and sophomore Andrew Joedeman.

Margaret was chosen by music teacher Joel Green for her leadership in the classroom and at school, skill as a singer and dedication to the music department. She participates in the marching band, choir, swimming, student council and speech. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, reading a good work of fiction and being with her family.

Margaret’s future plans after graduating high school include attending college to study to become a chiropractor or a special education teacher. She is daughter of Candace and Adam Boerema of Litchfield.

Justin Wittrock in the business department chose Andrew as student of the week for doing a great job in contributing to class by creating social media posts for the Dragon’s Den. He also works extra hours between classes in the school store, providing excellent customer service. Congratulations, Andrew!

Andrew has participated in cross country, wrestling and track since ninth grade. He enjoys hanging out with friends, watching Marvel movies and going outside. He is currently undecided about his future plans.

Andrew is the son of Bryan and Sue Joedeman of Litchfield.

The Litchfield High School students of the week for April 1-5 are Anni Rogness and Max Tibbits. Anni, a senior, was selected by Linda Heggedal-Gust in the Family and Consumer Science Department.

Anni is a very creative student with a great work ethic and a heart for making a positive difference in the lives of others. Her positive demeanor, natural affinity for working with people of all ages, and desire for excellence is very evident in all the activities for which she is aligned.

In school, Anni is currently enrolled in youth service where she mentors middle school students and Kindergarten students for two hours of her school day. Other major interests of study for Anni besides volunteerism include being in the National Honor Society, Dragonaires, Litchfield High School Marching Band, drum major and FCCLA. In addition, she is a worship team leader at her church.

Anni currently works for Davis Motors and volunteers her time at Cornerstone Church as a worship leader. She is daughter of Zach and Jill Rogness.

Future plans for Anni include attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona this fall to receive her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an additional focus in worship arts. Best wishes to Anni in all her future endeavors! Congratulations, Anni.

Max, a senior, was selected by Candace Boerema for his positive attitude in all that he does.

His work and efforts in a University of Minnesota Literature course is outstanding. Max’s insights in discussions lead the class to new understandings. He helps his peers understand the texts better. Congratulations, Max!

At LHS, he participates in football, baseball and wrestling. He was captain of the football and baseball team during his senior year. Max is also an active member in the National Honor Society and Student Council. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family along with hunting and fishing with his brother.

Max plans to study at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, majoring in pre-med for his bachelor’s degree. He is son of Jason and Sara Tibbits of Litchfield.
