Litchfield VFW Post 2818 recognized winners of the annual Patriot’s Pen Award during a ceremony Jan. 18 at Litchfield Middle School. VFW Post Commander Daniel Lease, left, and VFW Auxiliary President Vera Christie, right, recognized, from left, Genevieve Lundin, third place, Elijah Ostvig, first place, and Chase Revermann, second. The top three place winners receive cash awards, with $175 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third. In addition, the first-place winner on the local level is eligible to advance to the the next level, where additional scholarship money is available.
