What does it mean to you to be nominated for Athlete of the Year/Scholar Athlete of the Year?
Being nominated makes me feel very proficient because of the support from my teammates throughout these past four years. Being nominated next to some of the best athletes and overall good people to ever walk the halls of LHS is an award in itself.
What’s your most memorable athletic moment at LHS?
My most memorable athletic moment was when my hockey team made it to state my sophomore year. In the section finals the stands were filled in Hutch even though it was during COVID and to beat Hutch at their own barn to go to state was very memorable. Going to state for tennis my junior and hopefully senior year, was also very memorable because of how fun the hotels and being at the tourney is. Lastly, winning the section chip for football my sophomore year was very memorable. The year was crazy to start with but beating DC at home in one of my favorite regular season games, 15-13 which 15 plus 13 is 28, the number Dippin (Dylan Falling) wore was very special to see.
What have you learned from your participation in athletics at Litchfield High School?
After playing on these Litchfield sports teams, I have learned how to be a great leader. In the future I will be working and coaching with people who will rely on me to support them in whatever they do. Being a leader does not always mean being the loudest in the room, but rather doing the right thing all the time for others to follow you.
Who’s the teammate you most admire? Why?
The teammate I admire most is my brother, Ty Olson. Although we have never technically been teammates, he has always shown the qualities of what a great leader and teammate takes. Ty is someone everyone looks up to no matter your age, he is willing to work with all sorts of ages and communicate well. He shows passion in what he does and always plays and competes at a high level with all of his heart.
Any athletic plans after high school?
I plan on going to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I am planning on playing on the hockey team as well as their golf team.
