Litchfield wrapped up an impressive week by capturing first place in the Montevideo Invite Saturday.

The Dragons won three of four matches — splitting the other 1-1 — including a two-set victory over Paynesville in the championship match.

Litchfield tied Lakeview, then swept Renville County West and Milbank on its way to the title match.

Leading the way for the Dragons during the tournament was Colby Christensen, who had 29 kills in the four matches. Sydney McCann added 17 kills and Lily Osterberg 16.

Meanwhile, Kristin Foley collected 70 set assists. Foley also had 10 ace serves.

Defensively, McCann and Osterberg led Litchfield with 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

The successful tournament followed a three-game sweep of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Sept. 3.

Christensen had 10 kills to lead a trio of hitters with seven or more kills as Litchfield swept Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 29-27, 25-23, 25-18.

Osterberg and Greta Hansen had seven kills each for the Dragons. McCann added six kills, and Sydney Braaten had five for the balanced Litchfield attack.

Foley played a key role for the Litchfield offense with 34 set assists. Kamri Driver, meanwhile, had 18 digs to lead the Dragons.
