Just under 100 Litchfield High School seniors hit a milestone Sunday afternoon. In a sea of Dragon-green caps and gowns, family members, friends and faculty watched as the Class of 2018 graduated.
“You did it! You really did it!” Superintendent Beckie Simenson said during her welcoming address to the Class of 2018. “This is a special day for you.”
Simenson’s speech combined insight and encouragement for graduates to find their passion and follow it into the world beyond school. She spoke about the students being the first generation to graduate with the technology skills to navigate the world.
“You will continue to push the limits of technology, and you will make the future so much brighter,” she said.
Other speeches included those from senior class co-presidents Brianna Larson and Ashley Miller, Anna Brock, Bruce Thomes, Natalie Nelson and Kal Jackman. While each speech carried different messages, the same theme could be found in each one.
“Dragon pride is with you, always,” Simenson said.
