Deborah Ann Huls died Wednesday, May 1, peacefully at her home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Lunch to follow at Chilstrom Hall First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Debbie was born May 27, 1954 in Litchfield, daughter of Victor and Evelyn (Joramo) Olson. Debbie graduated high school from Grove City in 1972. Following graduation, Debbie worked several years at Jennie-O Foods in Willmar and Litchfield. On Oct. 7, 1977, Debbie welcomed her twins, Todd and Tiffany.

In 1986, Debbie went on to work for Instant Web Companies in Chanhassen, where she met Steve Brooks and his son Stevie. Debbie moved to Shakopee and resided there until she moved to Tishomingo, Oklahoma in 2002, where she met Leon Huls. Debbie and Leon were married June 24, 2004. While living in Oklahoma, she worked at Lowe’s in Durant and Alliance Health Durant.

Debbie enjoyed bowling, sewing and crocheting blankets. She was also an avid blood and plasma donor. Since her move to Oklahoma, Debbie and Leon loved to travel to Minnesota to visit family every summer, making sure to stop at every Wal-Mart on the way.

In addition to her father and Ozema Huls, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Leon, who passed in January 2014.

Debbie is survived by her mother Evelyn; her children Todd (Melissa) Olson and Tiffany (Tad) Marschall; Leon’s children, Quinton (Kelly) Huls and Shayna (Brent) Coy; grandchildren, Jack and Sam Olson, Taryn and Taya Marschall, Chloe, Logan and Callee Huls, Cadence Hall and Ash Coy; sisters, Donna (Mark) Beckstrand, DiAnn (Shane) Selders, Denise (Michael) Steeart; nieces and nephews, Lindsay (Jason) Ruppert, Luke (Jenna) Beckstrand, Cody Selders, Kylie and Corban Stewart; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
