Elizabeth is the Daughter of Elmer and Lois Swenson of Grove City. Elizabeth was born March 2, 1937, in Willmar. She moved to Grove City when she was two years old.
Liz was very active during her high school years. She was first chair clarinet in band, a cheerleader for six years, sang in the high school chorus and was part of a quartet. She was on the school newspaper staff and also part of the annual staff. Elizabeth was the football homecoming queen her senior year. She attended St. Cloud State College and University of Minnesota, graduating with an associate in arts degree.
She enjoyed classical music, art and keeping up with her family and friends. Although she spent her adult life living in Minneapolis, she enjoyed reading the Litchfield Independent Review. This kept her informed of area news and local folks, which brought back fond memories of her younger days.
Being a devout Catholic, Elizabeth led a prayerful life in anticipation of meeting her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May the Lord keep her in his everlasting remembrance.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her siblings, Dr. Richard J. Swenson, Marjorie Borgerding, Dr. Gregory T. Swenson (Jeanette) and Mary Jo Daugherty; and 21 nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth Swenson’s family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church of St. Philip.
