Gale A. Peterson, 76, of Grove City died Thursday, May 16, at his home in Grove City. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the church. Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Military honors will be provided by Litchfield Military Honor Guard.
Gale Arthur Peterson, son of Arthur and Mildred (Larson) Peterson, was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Litchfield. He graduated from Grove City High School in 1960. Gale served in the National Guard following high school.
On Sept. 7, 1962, he was united in marriage to Beverly Lorence at First Lutheran Church in Grove City. Gale owned and operated a construction company and a trucking business. He enjoyed trucking and was proud to have made the trip to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, several times. Gale was a member of Masons and Shrine and a former member of Grove City Fire Department. He enjoyed running heavy equipment, mowing his lawn and riding his Ranger to visit with friends.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Peterson of Grove City; grandchildren, April (Jon) Jurgens of Windom and Troy A. Peterson of Arizona; three great-grandchildren; sister Jannan Dilley of Grove City; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son Troy Peterson.
