Larry "Slinger" Kuehl, 67, of New Auburn passed away Sunday, June 30, at his home in New Auburn. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn with interment in High Island Cemetery in New Auburn at a later date. Military honors by VFW Post 7266 in New Auburn. Officiating will be the Rev. Dawn Quame. Organist will be Brenda Danielson. Congregational hymns are "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagle's Wing." Honorary casket bearers are the New Auburn Fire Department. Casket bearers are Chad Meyer, Josh Meyer, Luke Meyer, Kyle Ewert, Lance Ewert and Marc Kuehl.
Larry "Slinger" Marvin Kuehl was born Feb. 13, 1952, in Gaylord. He was the son of Marvin and Luella (Sylvester) Kuehl. Larry was baptized as an infant in 1952, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth April 4, 1966, both at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn. He received his education in Glencoe and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School Class of 1970.
On May 18, 1970, Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged April 11, 1974. Larry enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve January of 1976 and was honorably discharged April 21, 1978. He then enlisted in the Army Reserves April 21, 1978 and was honorably discharged in February 1985. Larry enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in February 1985 and was honorably discharged April 11, 1996. He was officially Retired!
Larry was employed as a fork lift operator at 3M in Hutchinson for 24 years.
Larry was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn, New Auburn Fire Department and New Auburn VFW Post 7266.
Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gun collecting, camping and motorcycling. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his children, Russell Miller and his wife, Amanda, of Gibbon and Candice Link and her special friend, Andrew Lieffrin, of Dassel; grandchildren, Jude Link, Tate Link, Ava Miller, Brayden Miller and Colten Miller; stepgrandchildren, Lydia and Ethan; sister Betty Ann Ewert and her husband, Harry, of Arlington; brother Myron Kuehl and his fianceé, LuAnn Meyer, of New Auburn; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Luella Kuehl; grandparents, William and Emma Kuehl and Arthur and Viola Sylvester; aunts and uncles, Clarence and Elfina Kuehl and Maynard and Lorraine Ostermann; and cousins, Lynell Kuehl and DiAnn Radoush.
