Virginia was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was presently a member of All Saints Lutheran Church. Virginia graduated from Dassel High School in 1956.
On Nov. 5, 1959, Virginia was united in marriage to Glenn R. Johnson at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church in Wayzata. Together they made their home on a farm in Darwin Township. Virginia had worked as a nanny, at Green Giant Canning Company in Cokato and helped Glenn on the family farm. Virginia made her home in Darwin until she moved to Cokato Brookridge Apartments in 2015.
She loved to spend time outdoors and in her flower garden. She had a wonderful heart and had a soft spot for young children, often volunteering as a foster grandparent for several kids. She had received a volunteer award for the many hours she would give of her time. She loved holidays and getting together with her family and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived vicariously through her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Vernon (Ava) Johnson of Savage and Scott (Kim) Johnson of Darwin; four grandchildren, Matthew Scott Johnson, Catie Sue (Johnson) Bebeau, Michelle Lynn (Huro) Sheldon and Melissa Ann Huro; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Liebfried, Adam Harrison and Torie Harrison.
